PUBLIC ACCOUNTING SENIOR WITH TAX FOCUS

We are looking for a seasoned professional who possesses strong tax and analytical skills to join our growing firm full-time. Our team works together to provide outstanding service to our clients in various industries as well as individuals, non-profits, estates, employee benefit plans, and trusts. We encourage team members to contribute ideas and identify opportunities to improve our client service and internal processes.

Essential Functions:
  • Work primarily with Tax Director, and occasionally with partners on projects
  • Preparation and review of complex individual and entity tax returns
  • Performing tax research using tax research software and other internet resources
  • Tax planning and management of tax liabilities for individuals and entities
  • Preparation and review of multi-state, composite, and local returns
  • Participating in planning and scheduling client engagements
  • Monitoring budgeted hours for client engagements and communicate status to directors and partners
  • Proactively maintaining contact with clients throughout the year
  • Developing junior team members by effectively delegating tasks, supervising, and providing guidance in following firm procedures, encouraging engagement efficiency, and utilizing technology
  • Consulting regarding accounting and compliance, with a focus on tax engagements
  • Using technology to continually learn and enhance service delivery to clients
  • Approximately 75% of the work is tax-oriented, and 25% is accounting-oriented
  • Skills Required:
  • Strong project management skills
  • Advanced understanding of complex tax concepts and application to client situations
  • Ability to apply advanced rules of income, deductions, adjustments, credits and M-1 items
  • Strong understanding of the differences between cash and accrual methods of accounting
  • Ability to apply advanced concepts regarding tax basis; gains and losses; and depreciation versus expensing
  • Have a working knowledge of deferred taxes and tax provisions
  • Experience working with complex partnership tax concepts
  • Experience preparing and reviewing multi-state, composite, sales and use, and local taxes
  • Solid working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with QuickBooks
  • Ability to prepare and develop trial balances from client-provided data
  • Education & Experience
  • Minimum of five years recent experience working in a CPA firm, with client contact, and managing other team members
  • A current Ohio CPA license is required (or ability and desire to obtain Ohio licensing)
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other financial majors
  • Masters of Tax is a plus, but not required
  • Interest in networking and new client development
  • Available for occasional overtime throughout the year and required overtime from February through April 15
  • PUBLIC ACCOUNTING - AUDIT/ACCOUNTING STAFF

    We are looking for a career-oriented audit/accounting professional to join our growing firm full-time.     Essential Functions:
  • Assist in planning and performing audits, reviews and compilations of financial statements for various industries, including for profit and non-profit, as well as employee benefit plans
  • Participate in planning and scheduling client engagements
  • Client consulting related to accounting processes and internal controls, as well as accounting software assistance
  • Perform special projects as assigned
  • Skills Required:
  • Experience following audit programs and completing tasks within budgeted hours
  • Experience creating work papers to be reviewed by team members
  • Understanding of and ability to document internal controls
  • Working knowledge and application of risk assessment in financial statement audits
  • Experience preparing financial statements, including disclosures, and analyzing account balances
  • Proven problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Solid working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to think strategically, multi-task, and work effectively and efficiently with minimum direction in a team environment
  • Education & Experience Required:
  • 2-4 years of current and/or recent audit experience in a public accounting firm
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting with at least two years public accounting experience
  • Desire to obtain a CPA license is required
  • Available for occasional overtime throughout the year and required overtime from February through April 15
  • PUBLIC ACCOUNTING - ACCOUNTING/TAX STAFF

    We are looking for a career-oriented accounting/tax professional to join our growing firm full-time. Our team works together to provide outstanding service to our clients in various industries as well as individuals, non-profits, estates, employee benefit plans, and trusts. We encourage team members to contribute ideas and identify opportunities to improve our client service and internal processes.

    Essential Functions:
  • Assist in planning and performing reviews and compilations of financial statements for various industries, including for profit and non-profit, as well as employee benefit plans. May assist in audits.
  • Participates in planning and scheduling client engagements
  • Accounting consulting related to accounting and compliance, QuickBooks, and various consulting engagements
  • Tax responsibilities will include tax preparation of individual and entity returns, and respond to basic client tax questions
  • Perform special projects as assigned
  • Contribute to the positive, team-oriented culture by maintaining cooperative relationships, sharing information, and accepting and providing constructive feedback
  • Approximately 50% of the work is accounting-oriented, and 50% is tax-oriented
  • Skills Required:
  • Experience completing tasks within budgeted hours
  • Experience creating work papers to be reviewed by team members
  • Understanding of GAAP and other accounting methods
  • Working knowledge and application tax attributes of different legal entities
  • Experience preparing financial statements, including disclosures, and analyzing account balances
  • Proven problem-solving and interpersonal skills required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Solid working knowledge of QuickBooks, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to think strategically, multi-task, and work effectively and efficiently with minimum direction in a team environment
  • Education & Experience Required:
  • 2-4 years of current and/or recent public accounting and tax experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting with at least two years public accounting experience
  • Current Ohio CPA license or desire to obtain an Ohio CPA license is a plus
  • Available for occasional overtime throughout the year and required overtime from February through April 15
